Mama Packs was founded by Alleta Greenberg, an American nurse living and working in France. Alleta works directly with staff at the Leparua Dispensary in order to evaluate the needs of the community and adapt the content and delivery of Mama Packs accordingly.

Certain items such as lessos (a piece of cloth used to carry baby), came directly from our community members. Supplies are brought to Leparua through the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The Mama Packs are then assembled by our dedicated local staff who give them to new and expecting mothers in the community.

So far we have supplied over 250 mama packs!
